Dr. Gordon A. Ferguson joined his father in 1976. He is an expert in cosmetic and periodontal prosthetic rehabilitation, and an innovator in the use of soft tissues lasers. He lectures locally and nationally on esthetic and cosmetic procedures, as well as practice management. 

Dr. Ferguson believes that continuing education is one of the most important aspects of dentistry.  He has not only served as a mentor to many local practitioners, but has also brought some of the best and brightest educators to present at local study clubs in the area.

He is a past president of the Western Essex Dental Association, and is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry , Academy of Laser Dentistry, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Academy of Dental Practice Administration, Western Essex Dental Association, and the Panke Mann Skylar Study Club.

Our dental hygienists, Geralyn Caughey, R.D.H., MS; Lynn Kempinski, R.D.H., BS; and Dawn Burrell, R.D.H., BS., all have advanced training in the treatment and prevention of periodontal disease. They have also developed and implemented an outstanding pediatric dental program, Ages and Stages, for our young patients. 

Geralyn has been an asset to our Hygiene Department at Ferguson Dental Associates since 1990.  She graduated from Montclair State University with both a Bachelor of Science Degree in Allied Health and a Master of Arts Degree in Health Education. She has utilized her background in education by developing a visitation program focusing on dental health for the Montclair Public Elementary School System.

Dawn joined Ferguson Dental Associates in 1999 after graduating from New York University Dental Hygiene Program.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology from Lycoming College.  In her tenure at Ferguson Dental Associates she has proven to be a valuable asset to our practice

Lynn has enjoyed being a part of the Ferguson Dental Team for 24 years as a Registered Dental Hygienist. She has a Bachelor of Science from Montclair State University in Allied Health and she continues to stay abreast of new Dental technologies through continuing education  

Dr. David I. Ferguson joined his father at Ferguson Dental Associates in 1997. He received his undergraduate degree in Philosophy at The Johns Hopkins University, graduated first in his class at the University of Maryland Dental School, and completed post-graduate training at York Hospital. He is the recipient of many awards for excellence in periodontics and preventative dentistry and was named Attending of the Year at Mountainside Hospital.

Dr. David Ferguson has advance training in surgical treatment of dental disease including periodontal plastic and implant surgery. He believes strongly in practicing dentistry in a patient friendly setting utilizing the most advanced dental methods and appropriate anxiety control.

Currently on the dental staff of Mountainside Hospital, Dr. David Ferguson is active in professional study groups such as Western Essex Dental Association where he has served as president. He also participates in regular professional development courses and is a current member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. Dr. David Ferguson lives in Montclair, NJ with his wife Kelly and their three children.

Barbara Grass and Gay Crawley provide friendly, professional reception and office management. 

Gay joined Ferguson Dental Associates working as an assistant for Dr. Richard Ferguson. She left to raise her family and returned to work with Ferguson Dental Associates in 1985 as a receptionist and insurance liaison.   

Bobbie joined Ferguson Dental Associates in July 1982.  Prior to that, she had graduated from Tufts University and taught Physical Education for 9 years in Cedar Grove while also earning her Masters Degree at Montclair State College. She then lived in Switzerland for five years.  

She began at Ferguson Dental Associates as the Receptionist and Office Manager.  Presently her duties include accounts payable and receivable.  In her free time, she enjoys tennis, gardening and spending lots of time with Lily, her Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier.

Lakena Anthony, Jamie De Vita & Justine Paqualicchio are our talented dental assistants.

Ferguson Dental Associates welcomed Lakena in 1997. She graduated from Berdan Institute for Health Professionals in 1996 and was awarded her certificate for Registered Dental Assisting in 1998. She is currently continuing her education at Passaic County Community College.

Jamie became part of the team at Ferguson Dental Associates in 1999 after she received her Certificate for Dental Assisting from Berdan Institute for Health Professionals.  She enjoys assisting in the placement of dental implants and oral surgery.

Justine joined Ferguson Dental Associates in 2001 while still attending High School as part of the Montclair High School Work Studies Program. After joining Ferguson Dental Associates on a full time basis she has recently enrolled at The Dental Studies Institute and is working toward her certification as a Registered Dental Assistant.
